SCOTTSDALE SYNCHRONIZED SWIM TEAM (SAZ) ONE OF THE TOP RANKED TEAMS IN THE COUNTRY.
The Team: The Scottsdale Arizona Synchro team is highly acclaimed at both State and National competition levels. The team, currently lead by head coach Xinya (Olivia) Zhang, previously a member of the Chinese National Team, now trains 45 competitive athletes. The team coaching staff is dedicated to helping each athlete succeed by not only building technical skills and athleticism but also by instilling confidence, sportsmanship and the value of hard work that will stick with them for a lifetime. The team goal is to mold and develop athletes from novice to elite. Our team instills self-discipline, good sportsmanship, perseverance, endurance, self-confidence and teamwork.
Current Successes: Many of Scottsdale Arizona Synchro’s athletes have qualified for the 2017 Junior Olympic Championships which will take place in Riverside, California June 30- July 08, 2017. One of our team members, was named to the 2017 USA National Team and will be representing the United States competing at the 2017 UANA Championships in Santiago, Chile, Aug. 21-27. Two 13-15 athletes, represented the US National team, competing at the 2016 Pan-American, and brought home Gold for Team USA. This year, Scottsdale Arizona Synchro has five team members in 13-15 age group category ranked in the top 40 in the country (over 6000 competitors nationwide).
Growth: Scottsdale Arizona Synchro team actively seeks new members year-round with a significant recruiting effort throughout the months of July and August. Our swimmers range from age 6 – 18. Organization: Scottsdale Arizona Synchro Team is a non-stock, non-profit corporation exempt from taxes under IRS code section 501(c)(3). Any donations to the Team are tax deductible. A Board of Directors is elected annually by the team member’s parents and provides financial and organization support to the team. The Scottsdale Arizona Synchro team willing produces exhibitions to showcase talent, entertain audiences, and earn donations.
