Jill Parr Head Coach – This is Jill’s third season with Scottsdale Synchro. Prior to SSA, Jill was the Head Coach at the Arizona Aqua Stars in Mesa for 6 years, and before that she spent 2 years as the Head Coach at Seattle Synchro. Jill has also coached for the Multnomah Athletic Club, (MAC Synchro,) in Portland, Oregon and for the National Team of Aruba. Currently she is also a member of the US National Team Coaching pool, and was the US 13-15 National Team Assistant Coach in 2009.
As a swimmer, Jill competed for 17 years, 15 of those years on the National Level. She was a finalist at Age Group Nationals, Collegiate Nationals, US Senior Nationals, and US Open. She has a degree in Dietetics from Michigan State University, and is a current Regional level judge working toward her Zone and National Certifications. Jill looks forward to the continued growth of SSA as a nationally and internationally competitive team.
Katie is an Arizona native who has been involved in synchronized swimming for seventeen years. Beginning on a parks and recreation team, Katie swam for the Arizona Desert Gems for five years, and then joined the Arizona Splashcats at the University of Arizona. She has worked in aquatics for over ten years, lifeguarding, coaching and running the City of Phoenix Aquatic synchronized swimming program. She is currently a manager with the City of Scottsdale for Cactus Aquatic Center. Katie and her husband, Joe, live in Mesa, and she has a degree in theatre production and works with various theatres around the valley when she is not coaching Scottsdale Synchro Arizona.
Coach Jamie Kuchan has been a synchronized swimmer since the age of five. When she was 12 she was selected for the 13-15 National Team and stayed at the Olympic Training Center for a few weeks to train. She made the 13-15 National Team again when she was 14 swimming under Jill Parr and competed at the Pan American Games in Peru, where they won the gold medal. At 16 she made the Junior National Team and moved to California to train. She competed with the team at the Jr. World Competition in Volos, Greece. Shortly afterwards she tried out for the U.S. Senior National Team and competed at the U.S. Open in Texas. She then moved back to Arizona and swam for Jill again with Scottsdale Synchro for the remainder of the season. She has now fallen in love with the sport—and Scottsdale Synchro—all over again and is grateful to be coaching the team!
Vincenza DeAcetis has been a synchronized swimmer for 12 years. She competed at the age group national level, JR/SR national level, and collegiately. She has competed on many different teams in Arizona including Scottsdale Synchro, Arizona Desert Gems, and Arizona Aqua Stars. She also swam collegiate synchro at University of the Incarnate Word. She speed swam for Paradise Valley High School for 3 years. She’s excited to be a part of Scottsdale Synchro and help the girls reach their goals!
